MAKEUP & PREP
Shoot day meant an early start for us as we had to travel into Manchester for 9am, but it was really exciting after the months of hard work! Everything took place at NQ Photo Studio, a great space to shoot with plenty of facilities set up and ready to use. As we organised ourselves and the lighting, @maryelizabethmua started makeup on our model @miajackso
HANGING & STEAMING CLOTHES
Our videographer was @chrislambe_ and he was already set up capturing everything going on. Unfortunately, it’s not all glitz and glam at a shoot! Clothes need unpacking, hanging and steaming. If you’ve never steamed clothes before, count yourself lucky as it’s hard work on a hot summer’s day (haha)! We ordered plenty of coffee and refreshments from Costa to keep us going though!
We started shooting just after 10am with @danehitchon_photography. It was surreal to finally see my designs on a model! I've found it can be really easy to get lost in the day to day processes of setting up a brand, but the shoot gave me a chance to step back and appreciate seeing it all come together. I hope I get to do this job for the rest of my life!
After lunch we tried to get some shots with our favourite intern @_bilbothepug_. He usually loves getting involved, but he hated standing on the white backdrop! So, he decided to watch the shoot from a safe distance in his bed and he took charge of napping (aww)! He still had plenty of treats for being a good boy though!
MAKING TIKTOK'S & REELS
Once we had all the necessary shots needed for the site, we had some fun making TikTok’s and reels for our social channels. It was such a nice way to end a whirlwind of a day. Our editing skills are a bit rough, but they’re definitely worth a watch! The studio is situated above a few bars, so we obviously went for a well-deserved glass of wine (or two) at the end!
